"Synthetic Health Data Hub FVG": New Report by The European House – Ambrosetti

Developed with the support of Aindo and Novartis Italia, the study highlights Friuli Venezia Giulia’s potential as a premier laboratory for synthetic data research.

On November 19, 2025, the study “Synthetic Health Data Hub FVG,” curated by TEHA Group (The European House – Ambrosetti), was officially presented during the event “Synthetic Data for Health: Friuli Venezia Giulia as a Laboratory for Research, Innovation and Growth.” The session was organized by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region in collaboration with Insiel.

The report highlights the unique regional opportunity to establish a dedicated hub for synthetic health data. Friuli Venezia Giulia is identified as the ideal location for this infrastructure, thanks to its deeply integrated healthcare ecosystem and its thriving life sciences sector. The implementation of this hub is expected to boost regional competitiveness, enhance service delivery, and generate up to €100M in additional GDP within 3 to 5 years.

Davide Ruffo, Chief of Institutional Relations at Aindo, underscored the strategic timing of this initiative: “Friuli Venezia Giulia is the ideal context to advance RWE research and clinical trials at this moment, in light of recent regulatory updates, including the Italian AI Law 132/2025, and the European Commission’s proposed Digital Omnibus reform. This will support the improvement of regional healthcare services, with a particular focus on preventive medicine.”
